Our Eco-Fill
Whats inside our cushions?
At the heart of every House on the Moon cushion is our signature filling: clean deadstock textiles. These are brand-new clothes that major fashion labels overproduce, then choose to destroy rather than risk lowering their brand value. Instead of letting these garments be wasted, we rescue them, clean them, and transform them into a soft, supportive filling. Each cushion saves the equivalent of around 25 T-shirts from landfill or incineration, giving textiles a second life with purpose. This is more than waste reduction, it is a quiet act of defiance against a broken system. What was once destined to be discarded is reborn as a wellness tool, designed to bring you comfort, stillness, and a deeper connection with the planet we share.
What Fabric Do we Use?
Chenille Fabric
Soft, versatile, and endlessly luxurious.
Chenille has been a design favourite for over a century — its name comes from the French word for “caterpillar,” inspired by the fabric’s fuzzy, tactile texture. Known for its softness and durability, chenille brings depth and richness to anything it touches.
We love working with chenille because it’s both practical and indulgent. Its dense weave makes it perfect for long-lasting cushions, upholstery, and home accents, while its warmth and gentle sheen add a sense of comfort and elegance.
By using chenille in our cushions, we’re combining durability with luxury, creating pieces that are built to be lived with, loved, and passed down.
Bouclé Fabric
Tactile, timeless, and beautifully distinct.
Bouclé gets its name from the French word for “loop,” and it’s easy to see why. With its soft, knotted texture, bouclé feels both comforting and elevated — a fabric that invites touch while instantly adding character to any space.
We love bouclé for its versatility. Traditionally woven from cotton, wool, or blends, it has a durability that makes it perfect for furniture and cushions, while its sculptural texture brings depth and warmth to interiors. Bouclé resists wrinkles and holds its shape, making it as practical as it is beautiful.
By weaving bouclé into our cushions, we’re pairing softness and strength — creating pieces that are as comforting to live with as they are striking to look at.
